Cookie Policy
Effective date: 7 September 2026
Draft placeholder. This page is a starting template, not legal advice. Replace the bracketed fields with your real business/contact details and have this reviewed before relying on it in production.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) that Autopubly sets when you visit our website or use the dashboard, and why. We keep this list deliberately short: Autopubly does not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off.
| Name | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| apb_at | httpOnly access-token cookie that keeps you signed in and authorizes API requests. | Short-lived session |
| apb_rt | httpOnly refresh-token cookie used to silently renew your session without asking you to log in again. | Longer-lived, rotated on use |
Both cookies are httpOnly (unreadable by page JavaScript), sent only over HTTPS in production, and are never used for advertising, tracking, or shared with third parties.
3. Local and session storage
Some preferences live in your browser's local/session storage instead of a cookie — they are never transmitted to us automatically and stay on your device.
- apb_cookie_consent — remembers whether you accepted or dismissed this cookie notice, so we don't show it on every visit.
- theme — remembers your light/dark mode preference.
- ap_visitor_session_id — a random, anonymous id (sessionStorage, cleared when you close the tab) we use to group page views from the same visit in our own first-party analytics. It is not linked to advertising identifiers and is never sold or shared.
4. Cookies from connected platforms
When you connect a social account (Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, or LinkedIn), that platform's own login page may set its own cookies during the OAuth flow. Those cookies belong to the platform, not Autopubly, and are governed by that platform's own cookie/privacy policy.
5. Managing cookies
Because our only cookies are strictly necessary for signing in, disabling them will log you out and prevent the dashboard from working. You can still clear cookies and site data at any time from your browser's settings, and you can clear the consent banner's stored choice by clearing this site's local storage.
6. Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce optional analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this page and the consent banner to let you accept or decline them before they are set.
